lane county parks

Hello all,

My name is Dave and I am from Coos Bay Oregon. Myself and a couple buddies where thinking about heading to Eugene for some detecting but I see that mding is not allowed in county parks??

I anyone can give me clarification on this would be great...cannot find any reference on lane parks website.

We would welcome company...planning to spend a weekend just digging and having fun...also if anyone has any recommandations for sites that would be welcome also.

We where initially planning on hitting Armitage but are open to suggestions.

Myself and friends have been detecting for a number of years and for us its mainly for the fun, peace of mind and of course an occasional good find helps cheer th group.

We primarily look for older sites for the chance of a nice coin or relic and I hit the water sometimes too. Time doesn't allow us to be full time hunters between family and work but its a great past time.

Some of you may know me as Weird Park Guy..had a youtube channel few years back and my buddy Chris was in it often. I am friends with adventures with jim and treasurefiend on youtube.

One of my detecting buddies had the privilege of detecting with Chicago ron as he made his tour on our seaboard.

Quit doing vids because it took time away from the limitd hunting time I had although I enjoyed it.

I have hunted with Mike and Richard from your group in years past water hunting from Loon lake on down south.

Feel free to respond here or I would welcome a call..I love to chat with other mders...and we have no club in our area.

thx,
Dave

Hello Dave. Thank you for the message. Yes, Lane Co. Parks are not available to hunt. You can hunt in the Fern Ridge lake bed, but not in the park. Eugene and Springfield parks require a free permit available during the week. Schools are available on weekends.
Douglas Co. parks require a permit. Please return special event permit application to 541-957-2062 (fax) or email to parks@co.douglas.or.us
Here is a link to the web site for locations.

www.co.douglas.or.us/parks/

We have our meeting tonight and I will let the club know you would like to detect in our area.

Lane County Parks has a permit now. You can get it online at the Lane County Parks web site. You need to take it into them to get it approved. Larry
